Metallurgical Automated Powder Sampler
Product Description
Overview
The Automated Powder Sampler consists of an air-driven shovel, sample bottle diverter (for dual bottle designs only), and a bottle opening adapter to accommodate the customer's sample bottle configuration. The pneumatic column extends the sampling spatula into the product. It is retracted after a certain amount of sample is filled, and then the sample falls by gravity into the sampling bottle. In dual bottle mode, a pneumatically controlled diverter delivers the sample to either of the two sample bottles according to the sampling program.
Appliance
The Automated Powder Sampler is a hygienic solution for quality testing of products in powder or granule conveying, handling and packaging equipment. Its fully air-driven design prevents damage or compaction of the sample and allows the quality of the powder particles in the sample to be consistently matched to the product being inspected.
Highlights
Ideal for mounting on silos, drop tubes or batch hoppers
Specifically designed for use in aseptic environments
Samples retain all physical properties of the powder
Powder samplers can be integrated into existing PLCs or controlled by stand-alone PLCs.
Minimized component count, simple design and easy installation.
Product Description
Automation Options
The automatic powder sampler can be integrated into a PLC program to control powder testing via an HMI system and operator control panel. The stand-alone sampler includes a pre-configured control box that enables stand-alone operation of the powder test.
Dual Sampling Bottle Design
If required by process quality and hygiene control specifications, a dual sampling bottle design is possible, which enables the samples collected to be diverted into either of the two sampling bottles. For example, in the dual sampling bottle version, one sample bottle can be used to observe product performance on a daily, shift-by-shift basis, while the other can be used for quality control across a period of time, such as a batch of product.
